Computer freezes when saving files in Firefox, sending mail in Thunderbird or starting OpenOffice

The temp folder fills up with tens of thousands of VerXXXX.tmp files, and they keep on appearing.

This turns out to be because the HPQTRA08 executable creates temporary files every few seconds and doesnt delete them.

Solution : Uninstall HP Customer Participation software.

Why do customer support surveys never have an entry for 'your software is slow to install and is bloated and breaks my PC'

Especially as the printer is an intelligent network device and should be easier to drive than the average, but it takes 20 minutes to install the software from CD.
